Uttaranchal Gramin Bank was established on June 30th 2006 vide Gazette Notification dated 30.06.2006 issued by Govt. of India, under section 3 (i) of RRBs Act 1976 (21 of 1976), after amalgamation of three erstwhile Regional Rural Banks viz. Ganga Yamuna Gramin Bank, Alaknanda Gramin Bank & Pithoragarh Kshetriya Gramin Bank, all sponsored by premier Commercial Bank of the country i.e. State Bank of India in the State of Uttarakhand. Accordingly, Bank’s area of operation is extended in the districts of Dehradun, Tehri, Uttarakashi, Haridwar, Pauri, Chamoli, Rudraprayag of Garhwal Division and district Pithoragarh and Champawat of Kumaun Division in Uttarakhand.
