उत्तर प्रदेश में 2011 से अटकी 72825 प्राइमरी शिक्षकों की भर्ती पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने साफ कर दिया है कि ये भर्ती टीईटी परीक्षा के आधार पर होंगी. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने यह भी आदेश दिया है कि यूपी सरकार 6 हफ्ते में इन प्राइमरी शिक्षकों की नियुक्ति करें.

कोर्ट ने कहा है कि सामान्य श्रेणी के जिन अभ्यर्थियों ने टीईटी परीक्षा में 70 फीसद या उससे अधिक और आरक्षित श्रेणी के अभ्यर्थियों ने 65 फीसद या उससे अधिक अंक प्राप्त किए हैं उनकी नियुक्ति की जाए.

आपको बता दें कि उत्तर प्रदेश में 72825 प्राइमरी शिक्षकों की भर्ती का मामला 2011 से लटका हुआ है. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने अपने 25 मार्च के पूर्व आदेश में संशोधन करते हुए यह अंतरिम आदेश जारी किया है. यह अंतरिम आदेश जस्टिस दीपक मिश्रा की अध्यक्षता वाली पीठ ने प्राइमरी शिक्षक भर्ती मामले में उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार और अन्य पक्षकारों की याचिकाओं पर सुनवाई के दौरान जारी किया.

How Was The Yeppee HACK Exploit Carried Out?

Things You Need:

    2 Packets of Yippee noodles from same shop and next to each other manufacturing number.

    Working internet connection.

Execution:

When you'd purchased a Yippee pack, on its 'masala' pack, you could see a "recharge coupon" used on PayTM to recharge the phone. Now here's the game. Since you bought 2 Yippee noodle packs made just next to one another, you defeated the coupon generating system as the system printed the coupons in series. For instance, if your code on Yippee pack 1 is ABCDEFGHIJ1, then it should be like ABCDEFGHIJ2 or BBCDEFGHIJ, etc. on the next pack. In short, the code should be somewhat in series.

Scripting:

Obviously, not all the codes in between were working. So I created a simple python script to test each code against original server validation mechanism and filtered out the working codes and discarded the used codes. I won't be posting my script here because I don't want it to be misused. Some of my friends achieved the same using javascript, which could also be a clean method for the trick. The mechanism of the script was simple, it just ran a loop of series and smartly checked whether the code was working or not with the appropriate JSON response from the PayTM server. There were no CSRF verifications or captcha to prevent attackers to misuse the functionality.

Possible Fix:

The team should have adopted a smart measure. Since their algo is obviously hidden, they should've mixed all the packs well and carefully without breaking noodles at the factory or must have coded a well designed totally entropy code system. Its not that hard to code one and stack all of them in database. The other possible fix could have been to limit attempts to server check query. They are neither checking the IPs, attempts of coupon checks, etc. They just return a simple JSON response message with appropriate message which is a cakewalk for a programmer to decode and loop a thousand codes altogether with a simple language like javascript.

Current Situation

Currently, the bug is fixed and my script no longer works. Also, I've heard that they've designed a new algorithm for their codes. Maybe this trick could work on older packs of Yippee noodles but not on new ones.

लातूर येथील पेपरफुटीचे प्रकरण उघडकीस आणल्यानंतर विद्यापीठाने तत्काळ या प्रकरणाची दखल घेत चौकशी सुरू केली आहे. विद्यापीठाने परीक्षा मंडळाची तातडीने बैठक बोलावून पेपरफुटीवर चर्चा केली होती. तसेच संबंधित केंद्राला भेट देऊन परिस्थितीची माहिती घेतली.
विद्यापीठाने नाशिकमध्ये अज्ञाताविरुद्ध गुन्हा दाखल करून प्रकरणाचा तपास सायबर क्राइमकडे सोपवावा, अशी मागणीही केली आहे. विद्यापीठाने व्हॉटस् अपवरील 'ते' प्रश्नदेखील हस्तगत केले असून, त्याची माहिती पोलिसांना दिली आहे.
विद्यापीठ एकीकडे फेरपरीक्षा घेत असताना व्हॉट्स अपवर फिरणारे ते प्रश्न प्रश्नपत्रिकेतील नसून केवळ विषयांचे चाप्टर्स होते, असा दावा करत आहे. शिवाय 'हे चाप्टर्स येऊ शकतील' असा सूचक संदेशही 'त्या' मेसेजमध्ये असून प्रश्नपत्रिकेतील ते प्रश्न नव्हते, असा बचाव विद्यापीठाने केला आहे. पेपरफुटीला कोणताही वाव नसल्याचे आणि संपूर्ण गोपनियता बाळगली जात असल्याचा पुनरुच्चार कुलगरुंनी केला.

सातत्याने बेजबाबदारपणा दाखविणार्‍या राष्ट्रसंत तुकडोजी महाराज नागपूर विद्यापीठाने हलगर्जीपणाचे आणखी एक उदाहरण सादर केले आहे. प्राध्यापकांवर वचक आणू न शकल्याने प्रश्नपत्रिकाच 'सेट' झाल्या नाही. त्यामुळे १५ नोव्हेंबरपासून सुरू होणार्‍या परीक्षा 'पोस्टपोन' करण्याची अखेर विद्यापीठाने घोषणा केली. परंतु अधिसूचनेत नमूद केल्याप्रमाणे बुधवारी रात्रीपर्यंत नवीन वेळापत्रक विद्यापीठाने जाहीर केले नव्हते. त्यामुळे विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये संभ्रम आणखी वाढीस लागला आहे.

विधानसभा निवडणुकांमुळे विद्यापीठाच्या हिवाळी परीक्षांना यंदा १0 दिवस उशिराने सुरुवात झाली. त्यामुळे उर्वरित परीक्षा लवकरात लवकर पूर्ण व्हाव्यात यासाठी गंभीरतेने प्रयत्न होणे आवश्यक होते. परीक्षा विभागातील तत्कालीन अधिकार्‍यांच्या बेजबाबदारपणामुळे प्राध्यापकांकडे लक्षच राहिले नाही अन् वेळेत प्रश्नपत्रिका 'सेट' झाल्याच नाहीत. नवीन परीक्षा नियंत्रक प्रशांत मोहिते यांनी कार्यभार स्वीकारल्यानंतर वेळापत्रक, इतर परीक्षा या बाबी मार्गी लावल्यानंतर हा मुद्दा त्यांच्या लक्षात आला. परंतु उशीर झाला असल्यामुळे नाईलाजाने 'सीबीएस' (क्रेडीट बेस सिस्टीम)पद्धतीच्या सर्व परीक्षा 'पोस्टपोन' कराव्या लागल्या.

'लोकमत'ने ही बाब प्रकाशित केल्यानंतर विद्यापीठाने यासंदर्भात संकेतस्थळावर अधिसूचना जारी केली. नवीन वेळापत्रक विद्यापीठाच्या संकेतस्थळावर उपलब्ध करून देण्यात आले आहे असे यात स्पष्टपणे नमूद करण्यात आले आहे. परंतु प्रत्यक्षात मात्र कुठल्याही परीक्षेचे नवीन वेळापत्रक अधिकृत संकेतस्थळावर दिसतच नसल्याची विद्यार्थ्यांनी तक्रार केली आहे. विद्यापीठातील अधिकारी दिवसभर परीक्षा यंत्रणेच्या कामात व्यस्त असल्याची माहिती सूत्रांनी दिली.

राज्य शिक्षण मंडळाच्या पूरक परीक्षेत सहभागी विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये निकालासाठी उत्सुकता लागली आहे. विशेषत: दहावीच्या विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये उत्सुकता आहे. कारण या निकालावर त्यांचा ११ वीचा प्रवेश होणार आहे. हे विद्यार्थी मार्च २0१४ च्या परीक्षेत एक किंवा दोन विषयात अनुत्तीर्ण झाले होते.

बोर्डाच्या 'एटीकेटी' योजनेंतर्गत त्यांना ११ वीला प्रवेश मिळाला आहे. परंतु त्यांना मार्च २0१५ पर्यंत कुठल्याही परिस्थितीत उत्तीर्ण व्हावे लागणार आहे. विद्यार्थ्यांना आपण परीक्षेत उत्तीर्ण होणार असल्याचा आत्मविश्‍वास आहे. ते उत्तीर्ण झाल्यास त्यांना ११ वीत प्रवेशाबाबत काहीच अडचण राहणार नाही. पुरवणी परीक्षेत १0 वीचे १९ हजारापेक्षा अधिक विद्यार्थी आहेत. सूत्रांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार एकूण परीक्षार्थ्यांपैकी ८ हजार परीक्षार्थ्यांनी 'एटीकेटी' नुसार ११ वीला प्रवेश घेतला आहे. दुसरीकडे १२ वीच्या परीक्षेत बसलेल्या विद्यार्थ्यांमध्येही निकालाबाबत उत्सुकता आहे. विज्ञान अभ्यासक्रमाच्या विद्यार्थ्यांना निकालाचे महत्त्व आहे. त्या विद्यार्थ्यांच्या मते निकाल सकारात्मक आल्यास त्यांना अभियांत्रिकीला प्रवेशासाठी घेण्यात येणार्‍या सीईटीमध्ये भाग घेण्याची संधी मिळेल. अशा परिस्थितीत ज्यांना परीक्षेत उत्तीर्ण होण्याची आशा आहे त्यांनी सीईटीची तयारी सुरू केली आहे. या बाबतीत बोर्डाच्या विभागीय कार्यालयाच्या अधिकार्‍यांशी संपर्क साधला असता त्यांनी परीक्षेचे काम अंतिम टप्यात असून १८ ते २0 नोव्हेंबरपर्यंत निकाल लागू शकतो, अशी माहिती दिली. विभागीय सहायक सचिव श्रीराम चव्हाण यांनी निकालाची तारीख पुणे मुख्यालयाकडून ठरविण्यात येत असल्याचे सांगून विभागाचे काम पूर्ण झाल्याची माहिती दिली.

To clamp down on cheque-related fraud cases, the Reserve Bank on Wednesday asked banks to alert account holders by a phone call and contact the base branch in case of non-home cheques before clearing high value payments.

The RBI also asked banks to send an SMS alert to payer/drawer when cheques are received for clearing and examine cheques under UV lamp for clearance beyond `2 lakh. The central bank further said multi-level checking should be done before clearing cheques above `5 lakh.

"Banks may consider the following preventive measures for dealing with suspicious or large value cheques: Alerting the customer by a phone call and getting the confirmation from the payer/drawer and contacting base branch in case of non-home cheques," RBI said in a communication to banks.

RBI said directions have been issued in the wake of a rise in the number of cheque-related fraud cases. It said cases have been reported where even though original cheques were in the custody of account holders cheques in the same series were presented and encashed by fraudsters. The RBI said banks may resort to given directions selectively, if not feasible to be implemented systematically.

The National Eligibility Test (NET) would henceforth be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and not by University Grants Commission (UGC) any more. 

The decision has come as a surprise to the students whom will appear for the examination. Those preparing for NET examination in 2014 will now have to apply on the site of CBSE.

In fact, the UGC has handed over the entire responsibility of receiving applications to declaration of results to the CBSE. Students have been taken aback by the decision as they had no prior intimation about it. Even the UGC website did not make any mention of exams being conducted by CBSE. The students learnt about it when they opened the website to check the date of examination.

The website only mentions that for appearing in NET examination 2014, students should apply on the website of CBSE and not that of UGC. 

Sources revealed that the UGC is facing a tough time conducting the exams. Increasing workload and criticism regarding improper conduct of examination are the main reasons for this decision, said sources. 

Otherwise too, apart from board examination and the holding of JEE exams, the CBSE does not shoulder the responsibility of any other big examination. However, the question papers of the NET examination will be prepared by UGC. 

Students appearing for the NET examination informed that they are facing a lot of difficulties in applying for the examination, particularly while keying in the password for online application. Students are facing a lot of problem in filling 'e-challan'. The link breaks time and again. As a result, students have to start from the beginning to complete the process, which is time-consuming. 

The website was closed for the entire day on Tuesday. Hence many students failed to fill and submit the application form. The website cites technical reasons for its failure, said sources.

जिल्हा परिषदेतील पदभरती घोटाळ्यातील पेपरफुटीवर अखेर शिक्कामोर्तब झाले. यवतमाळ जिल्हा परिषदेच्या विस्तार अधिकारी कृषी, कनिष्ठ अभियंता, प्रयोगशाळा तंत्रज्ञ आणि तारतंत्री या चार संवर्गातील पदांसाठी घेतलेली लेखी परीक्षा रद्द करण्याचा निर्णय जिल्हा निवड समितीचे अध्यक्ष तथा जिल्हाधिकारी राहुल रंजन महिवाल यांनी मंगळवारी घेतला. 

दरम्यान, औरंगाबाद पोलिसांनी जिल्हाधिकार्‍यांची दुपारी तब्बल दीड तास चौकशी केली. पेपरफूटप्रकरणी जिल्हाधिकारी महिवाल यांनी परीक्षा रद्द केल्याची माहिती पत्रकार परिषदेत दिली. यवतमाळ जिल्हा परिषदेतील चार संवर्गासाठी २ नोव्हेंबरला लेखी परीक्षा घेण्यात आली. या परीक्षेचा पेपर आपण स्वत: १ नोव्हेंबरला मध्यरात्री तयार केला. हा पेपर औरंगाबाद येथे फुटल्याची माहिती आर्थिक गुन्हे शाखेचे पोलीस निरीक्षक मधुकर सावंत यांनी २ नोव्हेंबर रोजी दुपारी २ वाजता फॅक्सद्वारे दिली. याप्रकरणी मंगळवार दि. ३ नोव्हेंबरला औरंगाबादचे पोलीस पथक यवतमाळात आले. त्यांनी आरोपींकडून जप्त केलेल्या उत्तरपत्रिकेची माहिती दिली. या प्रकरणासंदर्भात लेखी जबाबही घेतले. पोलिसांनी दिलेल्या उत्तरपत्रिकेशी विस्तार अधिकारी कृषी, कनिष्ठ अभियंता आणि तारतंत्री यांच्या उत्तरपत्रिका जुळत असल्याचे आढळून आले आहे. जिल्हा निवड समितीच्या उत्तरपत्रिकेसोबत आरोपींजवळची उत्तरपत्रिका ७0 टक्के मिळतीजुळती असल्याचे आढळले आहे. मात्र पोलिसांनी आरोपींकडून जप्त केलेली मूळ उत्तरपत्रिका दिलेली नाही. त्याची प्रत द्यावी, अशी लेखी मागणी आपण दुसर्‍यांदा करणार आहे. 

जिल्हा निवड समितीचा पेपर लिक झाल्याचे दिसून येते. जाहीर झालेल्या निकालामध्ये विस्तार अधिकारी संवर्गातील दोन विद्यार्थ्यांना २00 पैकी १६६ आणि १४२ असे गुण मिळाले आहेत. कनिष्ठ अभियंता या पदासाठी उत्तीर्ण होण्यासाठी आवश्यक असलेले ४५ टक्के म्हणजे २00 पैकी ९0 गुणही कुणी घेतलेले नाही. यावरून नेमका पेपर फुटला की नाही असाही संभ्रम निर्माण होतो. मात्र उत्तरपत्रिका मिळतीजुळती असल्याने ही परीक्षा रद्द केली आहे. उर्वरित १0 पदांसाठी असलेली परीक्षा ८ नोव्हेंबरपासून सुरळीत घेण्यात येईल, असेही जिल्हाधिकार्‍यांनी सांगितले. जिल्हाधिकारी महिवाल औरंगाबादमध्ये सीईओ असताना त्यांच्या संपर्कातील व्यक्तीने चुकीचा वापर केल्याची शक्यता आहे काय, असे विचारले असता याबाबत तपासणी केली जाईल, असे ते म्हणाले. पत्रपरिषदेला जिल्हा परिषद उपमुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी अरुण मोहोड, प्रभारी माहिती अधिकारी मंगेश वरकड उपस्थित होते.

जिल्हा परिषद पदभरती प्रकरणातील पेपरफुटीचे तार जिल्हाधिकारी कार्यालयाशी जुळतात काय, याच्या चौकशीसाठी औरंगाबादचे पोलीस पथक यवतमाळात तळ ठोकून आहे. या पथकाने मंगळवारी जिल्हाधिकारी राहुल रंजन महिवाल यांच्या शासकीय निवासस्थानी जावून त्यांची तब्बल दीड तास चौकशी केली. तसेच जिल्हाधिकार्‍यांच्या दोन स्वीय सहायकांसह पाच जणांना औरंगाबाद येथे चौकशीसाठी हजर राहण्यासंदर्भात नोटीस बजावली आहे.
दरम्यान, या प्रकरणाचे मुख्य सूत्रधार लवकरच पोलिसांच्या जाळ्यात दिसतील, अशी माहिती औरंगाबाद येथील आर्थिक गुन्हे शाखेचे पोलीस निरीक्षक मधुकर सावंत यांनी दिली.
यवतमाळ जिल्हा परिषदेत विविध संवर्गासाठी पदभरती घेण्यात येत आहे. २ नोव्हेंबरपासून भरती प्रक्रियेला प्रारंभ झाला. मात्र औरंगाबाद येथे अटक झालेल्या ११ जणांच्या टोळक्यामुळे ही भरती प्रक्रियाच संशयाच्या भोवर्‍यात सापडली. या आरोपींजवळ उत्तर तालिका सापडल्या आहेत. दहा ते पंधरा लाख रुपयांमध्ये उमेदवारांना ही उत्तरतालिका परीक्षेपूर्वीच देण्यात आली.
सुमारे ४0 जणांना ही उत्तर तालिका विकण्यात आल्याची कबुली अटकेतील विक्रीकर निरीक्षकासह ११ जणांनी औरंगाबादचे पोलीस आयुक्त राजेंद्रसिंह आणि आर्थिक गुन्हे शाखेपुढे दिली. अद्याप या आरोपींनी या प्रकरणातील मुख्य सूत्रधाराचे नाव उघड केलेले नाही. त्यामुळे पोलिसांनी ही परीक्षा प्रक्रिया राबविणार्‍या जिल्हा निवड समितीतील सदस्यांपैकी कुणाचा सहभाग आहे का, याचा तपास चालविला आहे. त्याचाच एक भाग म्हणून औरंगाबाद येथील पोलीस निरीक्षक मधुकर सावंत यांच्या नेतृत्वातील पथक मंगळवारी सकाळी ११ वाजता यवतमाळात दाखल झाले.
त्यांनी जिल्हाधिकारी राहुल रंजन महिवाल यांच्या निवासस्थानी जावून त्यांची तब्बल दीड तास चौकशी केली. जिल्हाधिकारी महिवाल यांनी परीक्षा प्रक्रियेची संपूर्ण माहिती पोलिसांना दिली.
१ नोव्हेंबरला आपण स्वत: विविध संवर्गातील पदांच्या प्रश्नपत्रिका तयार केल्या. या प्रश्नपत्रिका जिल्हा परिषदेतील उपमुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकार्‍याच्या कक्षात एका खासगी झेरॉक्स व्यावसायिकाकडून मशीन आणून पिंट्र काढल्या.
त्यानंतर दोन स्वीय सहायक आणि शिपायांच्या मदतीने त्या जिल्हाधिकारी कार्यालयात सुरक्षित ठेवण्यात आल्या. त्यामुळे या घटनेत जिल्हा निवड समितीचा कुठलाही सहभाग नसल्याचे त्यांनी पोलिसांना सांगितले. यावेळी पोलीस निरीक्षक सावंत यांनी ते दोन स्वीय सहायक, शिपाई आणि झेरॉक्स व्यावसायिक यांची नावे, मोबाईल क्रमांक नोंदवून घेतला. तसेच या पाच जणांना चौकशीसाठी वेळोवेळी औरंगाबाद येथील आर्थिक गुन्हे शाखा कार्यालयात उपस्थित राहण्याची नोटीस बजावली.

जिल्हा परिषदेतील चार संवर्गातील पदांसाठी लेखी परीक्षा घेण्यात आली. सायंकळी या लेखी परीक्षेचा पेपर फुटल्याच्या वृत्तामुळे एकच खळबळ निर्माण झाली. अद्याप तरी पेपर फुटला की नाही हे स्थानिक पातळीवर निश्‍चित झाले नाही. मात्र या वृत्ताची पडताळणी करण्यासाठी जिल्हा प्रशासनाकडून हालचाली करण्यात येत आहेत.

जिल्हा परिषदेतील विस्तार अधिकारी कृषी - २, कनिष्ठ अभियंता स्थापत्य - ७, कनिष्ठ अभियंता बांधकाम - २, कनिष्ठ अभियंता पाणीपुरवठा - १, प्रयोगशाळा तंत्रज्ज्ञ - १, तारतंत्री - १ या पदासाठी लेखी परीक्षा घेण्यात आली. जिल्हाधिकारी तथा जिल्हा निवड समितीचे अध्यक्ष राहुल रंजन महिवाल यांच्या निगराणीतच ही प्रश्नपत्रिका तयार करण्यात आली. सकाळी ९.३0 वाजता व्हीडिओ चित्रिकरणात त्या प्रश्नपत्रिकेचे वितरण करण्यात आले. मात्र त्यापूर्वीच औरंगाबाद येथे वाडेकर क्लासेसचे दादासाहेब वाडेकर, परभणी आरटीओ कार्यालय व औरंगाबाद जिल्हा मध्यवर्ती बँक येथील क्लार्क यांच्यासह आर्थिक गुन्हे शाखा औरंगाबाद शहर पोलिसांकडून ११ इसमांची राज्यस्तरीय टोळी मध्यरात्री पकडण्यात आली. यामध्ये मुख्य सूत्रधार विक्रीकर निरीक्षक मकरंद मारोती खामणकर रा. औरंगाबाद, दादासाहेब वाडेकर (५0) रा. किनी, भागीनाथ साहेबराव गायके (३६) रा. शेगाव, क्लार्क औरंगाबाद को-ऑप बँक विनोद दत्तात्रय वडकर (४0), कनिष्ठ लिपिक आरटीओ कार्यालय परभणी पोपट नत्थु कराळे, महेश आनंदराव गायकवाड रा. धामणगाव रेल्वे जि. अमरावती, महादेव रामदास नायसे (२५) रा. बोरगाव मंजू जि. अकोला, सुरेश भीमराव आरसूळ (२२) रा. पराडा जि. जालना, काळूसिंग पन्नालाल नायमनी (२६) रा. शेगाव जि. औरंगाबाद, कैलास लिंबाजी सोनकांबळे (४२) रा. गौतम नगर जि. परभणी, सचिन वाल्मीकराव गायकवाड (३१) रा. नाथनगर जि. औरंगाबाद यांना औरंगाबाद शहर पोलिसांनी मध्यरात्री पाठलाग करून अटक केली. त्यांच्याजवळ हस्तलिखित असलेल्या उत्तरपत्रिका सापडल्या. पोलिसांनी त्यांना न्यायालयापुढे हजर केले असता ८ नोव्हेंबरपर्यंत पोलीस कोठडी सुनावली आहे. यवतमाळातील स्थानिक कुठल्याही कर्मचार्‍याचा यात सहभाग असल्याबाबतचे उघड झालेले नाही. शिवाय या टोळीकडून विकण्यात आलेल्या उत्तरपत्रिका नेमक्या जिल्हा निवड समितीने काढलेल्या उत्तरपत्रिकेशी मिळत्याजुळत्या आहेत की नाही हे ही वृत्त लिहेपर्यंत निश्‍चित झाले नव्हते. (कार्यालय प्रतिनिधी) पेपर फुटला की नाही याची पडताळणी करण्यासाठी औरंगाबाद पोलिसांकडून माहिती मागविण्यात आली आहे. चार संवर्गासाठी ही लेखी परीक्षा घेण्यात आली. पेपर फुटल्याची स्थानिक पातळीवर कुठलीही तक्रार नाही. संपूर्ण प्रक्रिया शांततेत पार पडली आहे. औरंगाबादमध्ये अटक करण्यात आलेल्या आरोपींजवळच्या उत्तरपत्रिका नेमक्या कोणत्या पदाच्या आहेत याचा शोध घेण्यात येत आहे.

INDIA has performed poorly in removing gender-based disparities, ranking 114 out of 142 countries in World Economic Forums 2014 gender gap index, scoring below average on parameters like economic participation, educational attainment and health and survival.

India's slipped 13 spots from its last year's ranking of 101 on the Gender Gap Index by the World Economic Forum. India is part of the 20 worst-performing countries on the labour force participation, estimated earned income, literacy rate and sex ratio at birth indicators. On the other hand, India is among die top 20 best-performing countries on the political empowerment sub index.
The index was first introduced by the World Economic l-'orum in 2006 as a framework for capturing the magnitude of gender-based disparities and tracking their progress.The index benchmarks national gender gaps on economic, political, education and health criteria.

IN AN incident that may sound a modern-day tech-edge version of an incident that formed the story for recent movie 'Special 26', an unidentified entity has launched a fake website in the name of Maharashtra Forest Department. The intention behind launching the website is pretty clear from Bppll cations invited through it for recruitment to 1,240 posts 'in Forest Department'. launched with the U1U. http://mhforest.evenweb.com. It displays logo of Ministry of Environment       and       Forests, Government of India. Rest of the screen invites applications for 1,240 posts in Maharashtra Forest Department The posts on the offer are "Field Officer", and eligibility is merely SSC (Class X). The candidates should be in the age group of 16 to 35 years, stales the said website. The salary offered is Rs 18,500 during training and Rs 22,500 later on. "The job will be for a span of 18 years and later on the candidates will be absorbed in permanent employment. The recruitment will be on contractual basis," slates the said webpage.

Shockingly, the fake website states that there will be'no examination or interview for the recruitment. Besides, it states, first 1.240 candidates who submit documents of educational qualifications will be recruited and successful candidates will be called for joining in January 2015. The fake website goes on to prescribe 'last date for recruitment' as November 1,2014. The website gives number of an account 03872134120) in State Bank of India, in the name of' V. Several gullible candidates are suspected to have fallen prey to this fake website. However, some candidates who are well-acquainted with Internet, reported this to officers of Maharashtra Forest Department. Taking a serious cognizance of this, Forest Department has issued an'alert'.The department has issued a publication stating, "Maharashtra Forest Department has never hosted http://mhforest.evenweb.com website. Also, there is no direct or indirect connection with any person or Maharashtra Forest Department as a whole, with the content published in the above-mentioned fake website."The department has also alerted the people 'to desist from the false publicity being propagated by the said website".

Forest Department is also learnt to have reported the matter to higher authorities. It remains to be seen if the department and other agencies act in lime to stop gullible unemployed youths from falling prey to the fake website.

With BJP winning over 120 seals and falling short of majority in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly polls, its State chief Devendra Fadnavis said that all options were open as far as alliance required to form the Government was concerned and added that the next Chief Minister will be from BJP.

Talking to media persons after his thumping victory from South-West Nagpur constituency, Fadnavis said that the people had reposed faith in BJP as the credible alternative in Maharashtra. "This is the result of hard work done by BJP workers, We have been able to secure almost thrice the number of seats this time than we had in previous election," he said. In the Assembly elections held in 2009, BJP had won 46 seats. This time, its tally has gone well over 120 seats.
