JEE Main Eligible For Engineering 2014 Admission Criteria | Negative JEE Main Marks Admission to engineering 2014

STRANGE but true. The students with negative score in JEE (Main) also are eligible for admissions to Maharashtra State Engineering Colleges. The reason? The average score of Physics-Chemistry-Mathematics (PCM) group of Class XII and JEE (Main) is required to be jusi 'non-zero' to secure admissions. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) introduced JEE examination for admissions to engineering colleges from the year 2013. Some of the states including Maharashtra did not participate in it last year. This year, all states have registered their participation. JEE is conducted in two phases -- JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced). JEE (Main) is conducted for admissions 10 Stale engineering colleges, various National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs). The first 1.5 lakh lop rankers of JEE (Main) become eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) where from ihey could go 10 Indian Institute of Technology (IU).

If a student wants to take admission in State engineering colleges, he or she is required to have only *non-zero' score of the average of JEE (Main) and PCM group of Class XII. The score for admission is calculated as 60 per cent of the percentage score in JEE (Main) and 40 per cent of percentage score in PCM group in Class XII. A student can get admission to engineering college on the basis of sum of these two scores.

However, due to the requirement of only 'non-zero' score, a student with even negative score in JEE (Main) may gel admission to engineering college.

Verification of Scanned Images of OMR Answer Sheets & Recorded Responses. All the candidates who appeared in pen and paper based examination of JEE (Main) 2014 (Paper- T) held on 06/04/2014 are informed that the scanned images of OMR answer sheets of the candidates with their recorded responses will be uploaded on the website www.cbse.nic.in and www.jeemain.nic.in from 25/04/2014 to 28/04/2014 till 2.00PM. Such candidates are allowed to challenge the recorded responses if these differ from the ones they had marked on the OMR sheet.

The challenge of scanned images of OMR answer sheets will be accepted online only, through the link available on the website of JEE (Main) www.jeemain.nic.in latest by 2.00 PM on 28/04/2014. The challenges submitted by post or in person will not be accepted. The prescribed fee of Rs. 1000/- per recorded response challenged will be required to be submitted through Credit/Debit Card or e-Challan only upto 2.00PM on 28.04.2014. The fee once paid is non refundable.

If the challenge is accepted by the Board i.e. if the recorded response is not the same as marked by the candidate on OMR sheet, the correction will be done and the fee will be refunded. In case, any registered candidate does not submit the challenge by the prescribed date and time, it will be presumed that his/her recorded response is the same as marked on OMR sheet. The CBSE's decision on the challenges shall be final and no further communication will be entertained.

The question paper and recorded responses in respect of examinees, who have appeared for computer based examination of JEE(Main) - 2014 have already been sent on their registered mail IDs so no challenge will be accepted from such candidates.

Before viewing the OMR sheets, the candidates who have still not submitted their roll nos. of class 12lh/qualifying examination are required to submit the same on the JEE(Main) website. The candidates who have already submitted their roll nos. of class 121 /qualifying examination may view the same and, in case of any discrepancy, they must send scanned copy of their roll nos./mark-sheet of class 12th/qualifying examination through e-mail only on jeemain@nic.in.

All the candidates who appeared in pen and paper based examination of JHH (Main) 2014 (Paper- I) held on 06/04/2014 are informed that the answer keys will be uploaded on the website www.cbse.nic.in and www.jeemain.nic.in from 2.00 PM on 28/04/2014 to 5.00 PM on 29/04/2014.The link for downloading the answer keys in respect of examinees, who have appeared for computer based examination of J EH (Main) 2014 will also be available on the website www.cbse.nic.in and www.jeemain.nic.in from 2.00 PM on 28/04/2014 to 5.00PM on 29/04/2014.The candidates are allowed to challenge the answer keys through the link available on the website of JEE (Main) latest by 5 PM on 29/04/2014. A fee of Rs. 1000/- per question will be required to be submitted through credit/debit card or e-challan. The challenges submitted by post or in person will not be accepted. If (he challenge is accepted by the Board i.e. if any mistake is noticed by the subject experts in the answer key, a policy decision will be notified in the newspapers and the fee shall be refunded.
