I ME Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the dates of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (Main)-2014 and JEE (Advanced). The Mains will be organised by the JEE Apex Board for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes offered by NITs. IIITs. other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, participating State Government Institutions etc. In this the aspirants have choice to select either Pen and Paper Based Exam OR Computer Based Exam mode.

JEE (Main) 2014 will contain two papers i.e. Paper-I (B. E./B. Tech.) aikJPaper-2(B.Arch./B.Planning.). Depending upon the course(s) candidates are seeking admission, they can opt for Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.). or Paper-2 (B. Arch./B. Planning) or both.Maharashtra Government is participating in the examination for the first time. Maharashtra's Higher and Technical Education Minister had last year made it clear that State would participate in the examination from the year 2014.On-line application has to be submitted through JEE (Main)-2014 website www.jeemain.nic.in. Students should fill me on-line application form along with the application fees prior lo December 26, 2013. The on-line application process will Man from November 15, 2013 onwards. The eligibility criteria for JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) are different.

Eligibility For JEE Mains 2014 : The candidates who have passed or appearing Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2012 or 2013 arc eligible to appear in JEE (Main)-2014.

Age Criteria For JEE Mains 2014 : The General Candidates must have born or after 01 October 1989 whereas Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates must Born or after 01 October 1984.

•     CBSE and CSAB are two different and independent boards. CBSE conducted JEE (Main) examination and publisheed the merit list. CSAB only uses the merit list published by CBSE for seat allocation purposes. CSAB is not responsible for any error either in marks or in merit ranks of JEE (Main) -2013.

•     Both Government and Private Institutes will participate in seat allocation through CSAB. Government Technical Institutes (GFTls) are National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (HIT and I1TDM), Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTls) and State Funded Technical Institutes. Private Institutes are called Self Financed Technical Institutes (SFTls).

•     Seats in CSAB will be allocated on the basis of JEE (Main) All India Ranks of the candidates provided by CBSE. No other rank will be used for seat allocation.

JEE Main 2013 Rank List has been published by the concerned officials of CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board). To make it public, officials of JEE has launched a dedicated website with pointing address www.csab.in. As per the notification details, JEE Main 2013 Rank list was placed in Central Seat Allocation Board website on July 1, 2013. CSAB is the solemnly body which is responsible in allotting seats in all National Institutes of Technologies, IIT's and in all Centrally Funded Technical Institutes including Self Financed Technical Institutes during the academic year 2013 - 14. Complete JEE Main Counselling process will be carried through this online portal csab.in.

•     In NITs, 50% of the seats will be from Home State (HS) Quota and the remaining 50% from Others State (OS) Quota, i.e., all Other States and UTs except the Home State. Other states exclude home state. In CFTIs, IIITs and SFTls the seats will allocated on basis of HS/OS/A11 India Quota as applicable.

•    The candidate should note that the Home State of a candidate (also called State of Eligibility) is defined as the State from which the candidate has passed 12th standard (or equivalent) examination AND not on the basis of nativity (Ref: MHRD Office Memorandum No. F. 20-1/2003-TS-lll/June 18, 2003). For example, the Home State of a native of Lakshadweep will be Lakshadweep only if he has passed 12th standard from Lakshadweep. However, if he has passed 12th standard from Kerala, his Home State will be Kerala.

It is informed to all the candidates who appeared for JEE (Main)2013 that the office is in receipt of requests / representations for change of their category and other correction in their particulars i.e. candidate/mother/ father's name, State code of eligibility, mobile number, e-mail ID, date of birth, gender, etc.

In this connection, the Board has decided to give a last opportunity to such candidates who wish to change their category (Gen/OBC/SC/STetc.) and State code of eligibility. The candidates can do such correction through online at the JEE website i.e. www.jeemain.nic.in. from 20/06/2013 to 28/06/2013. The candidates are informed to do these corrections carefully as these changes may affect their ranking of JEE (Main) 2013. The other corrections i.e. candidate/mother/father's name, mobile number, e-mail ID, date of birth, gender, etc. will be done by JEE (Main) office on the receipt of request from the candidates either through mail or post latest by 28/06/2013. Thereafter, no such request will be entertained at any cost and the Board will not be responsible for the same. The change of category, sub-category shall not affect the score/eligibility for JEE (Advanced) declared on 07.05.2013.

CENTRAL BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION  

As notified earlier, it is again brought to the notice of all the aspirant and registered candidates of JEE (Main)-2013 that the facility for correction in their data (particulars) will be operational on the website www.jeemain.nic.in from 15.01.2013 to 24.01.2013. All the registered candidates for the said examination are advised to visit the website and verify their particulars. They are further advised to make correction in their particulars, if any, in their registration form. However, the change of city for examination and change of mode from computer based to pen & paper based is not allowed. Since, it is one time facility, extended to the candidates to avoid any hardship to them, the candidates are advised to make the corrections, if any, latest by 24.01.2013. Thereafter, no correction in particulars, whatsoever, will be entertained by the JEE Unit under any circumstances. The correction slip generated after corrections with the bank draft of additional amount (if applicable) and copy of earlier confirmation page is to be sent to JEE Unit on the address mentioned below so as to reach latest by 31.01.2013.

Admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, Other centrally funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by several participating State Governments, and several other Institutions shall involve the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). The JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs. 

From 2013 onwards Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) 2013 for Admission to B.E/ B.Tech/ B.ARch/ B.Planning Engineering Programes in IITs, NITs and Other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, etc.

JEE 2013 Mains Eligibility:-

The minimum academic qualification for appearing in JEE(MAIN) 2013 is that a candidate must have passed in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination. Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination in 2013 may also appear in JEE(MAIN) 2013 provisionally.

JEE Main 2013 Pattern / Syllabus:-

Paper 1 for B.E/B.TECH

Subjects:- Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics

Type:- Objective type questions with equal weightage to Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics

Duration:- 3 Hours


Paper 2 for B.ARCH/B. PLANNING

Subjects:-

Mathematics – Part I
Aptitude Test – Part II &
Drawing Test – Part III

Type:- Objective type questions Objective type questions questions to test Drawing Aptitude

Duration:- 3 Hours

There will be objective type questions with four options having single correct answer. For each incorrect response, one fourth (1/4) of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet.

JEE Advanced 2013 Important Dates/ Notification:-

JEE Advanced Offline Exam will be held on 2nd Jun 2013. There will not be any online exam for JEE-Advanced.

JEE Advanced 2013 Paper Pattern:-

The JEE (Advanced)-2013 will have two objective type papers. Each paper will consist of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Duration of each paper will be 3-hours.

Question papers will be in both English and Hindi.
