The online registration for the admission test (JEE) to the Indian Institutes of Technology began on Monday . IIT aspirants can log on to to the website to fill up the online application form .

This year there has been a change in the eligibility criteria for admission to the IITs.

Candidates must score at least 10% marks in each of the three subjects - physics chemistry and maths - and a minimum aggregate of 35% to figure on the common rank list. Till last year the minimum qualifying marks in JEE were worked out after calculating the average of the marks scored by all the candidates who wrote the exam.

Students can log on to the IIT website to fill up the form for JEE, which will be held on April 8 next year. Forms will be available over the counter only from November 11. The last date for registering online is December 10.

Thousands of IIT aspirants got a chance to fulfill their dream of studying in any part of the top engineering institution in the country when the online registration for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2012 began on Monday.

Candidates just need to log on to the official IIT JEE 2012 website and fill up the form.

IIT JEE 2012 exams will be held on 8th April, 2012. The last date for registering online is 10th December.

Interested candidates will have to wait till 11th November for the forms availability. 

The last date to register will be 15th December, if the form is submitted offline. 

Interested general category male candidates need to submit an amount of Rs.1800; while female need to pay only Rs.200.

IIT JEE 2012 examination will be held on 8th April, 2012 (Sunday). 

Examination Schedule: 

Paper 1: 09.00 to 12.00 hrs (IST)

Paper 2: 14.00 to 17.00 hrs (IST)

Note: The schedule will remain unaltered even if the above date is declared a public holiday.
