CBSE Class 10th OPT Admit card are now available for Download / Print online. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the admit card for the Class 10 Optional Proficiency Test 2014. Candidates can download their admit cards by entering their User ID/Affiliation number and password, the id and password should be the same used for online data submission. The new exam dates begin from April 21 and end on April 25, with exam timings 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

The Optional Proficiency test is based on the syllabus of Class IX and Class X but consists of concept application questions. Beginning after the completion of final exams, the Optional Proficiency Test serves as a centralized benchmark of subject understanding. Participating students will be able to gauge their knowledge of the subject as compared from students of different schools. The results will also serve as feedback to Schools regarding teaching styles. Students appearing for the test will receive certificates from CBSE and percentile ranks.

Paper Pattern of OPT 2014

The examination is pen and paper based and consists of multiple choice questions. Each subject has maximum 100 marks and a duration of 2 and half hours. Negative marking is applicable. The test is based on Class IX and Class X syllabus but will not have any recall/memory based questions and will focus on skills, abilities and understanding based questions. Style of questions will be based on observing, comparing, classifying, solving, translating, interpreting, analyzing, synthesizing, creating, composing, deducing, justifying and judging/evaluating.

CENTRAL Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) of both classes X and XII will commence on March 1. The students will have to reach their respective centers 15 minutes before the commencement of exam which will start from 10.30 am.
Class X exam will begin with Painting on March 1 and continue till March 19. The paper of Mathematics will be on March 3 and Hindi on 5 March 2014.
The class XII exam will start with a paper of English (Elective. Core and Functional) followed by History on March 4 and Physics the next day.
Counselors and psychologists, meanwhile, advised the parents and guardians of Board students to slop pressuring their children too hard to achieve better grades in the exams, especially at this point of time.
With less than three days remaining for the advent of CBSE board exams, it is about time students check their exam center details to avoid the last minute rush.

CBSE taking online feedback of students regarding bullying

DUE 10 the rising cases of bullying among ihe school students. CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has started taking online feedback from students and schools on the issue of bullvine. Bv this process. CBSE management want to bring some strong strategy in controlling activities in its all 12562 affiliated schools across the nation and aboard including 220 ones in Chhattisgarh.
According to the latest circular of CBSE. the board has sent a set of questionnaires regarding bullying problems for students as well as school staff members and management. The major pan of this feedback is that identities and responses of the students will be kept secret. The circular later mentioned that this feedback is an important assessment which will help CBSE in taking some important decisions and methodology to address this concern effectively.
It may be mentioned here that VineetJoshi.Chairnianof CBSE has also written a letter to all CBSE affiliated schools for handling this issue (bullying) which is breaking the confidence level of the students.
The schools should implement some norms in controlling of bullying and also take pledge to prevent school students from this emotional torture. In the set of questionnaires, the management of board has listed various things like teasing, calling hurtful names, physical intimidation or spreading jjossip in a bid to understand in which form bullying marks itself most. The board has also asked the schools, what kind of action they will take if any case of bullying is reported.

THE Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has included new games for its 2014-15 annual spoils competition. According to CBSE. this will add to sportive mood in its schools. The new games include Wushu. a Chinese martial an, is the latest entrant along with archery, gymnastics and rifle shooting. With the addition of new games. CBSE has doubled the annual fees being paid by schools. The CBSE Inter School Sports and Games Competitions (CBSE-ISSGC) is an important event wherein all CBSE schools participate. The circular issued recently says, "CBSE stands out as the only educational hoard which organises competitions in different disciplines that contribute to make their students a filter and a better human being," Presently, the competition held in 20 disciplines in which over 1.5 lakh students participate each year. The circular further makes it clear "For bringing in further transparency into the prevailing sporting system, the Board has already developed the physical education; sports & games portal on its website and includes the complete information on CBSE-ISSGC.
The Board has yet not prepared the rules and regulations but according to Board official everything related to these new games would soon be on the CBSE website. The CBSE- ISS-GC is board's self-financed educational activity and organised out of annual sports, fee contribution received from its independent category of schools. The board will provide competition organising schools with equipment, medals, certificates, scholarship under Chacha Nehru Sports Award.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) decided to check students behaviour, the parents and teachers have to be more alert on how the pupils or wards behave.
According to academicians of the city, it would make students more conscious of their conduct. Educationists and academicians of Nagpur have welcomed the move. They feel it will definitely help in making students well-behaved citizens.
They have started assessing students' life skills which includes behaviour. Teachers have been provided evaluation sheets on which they will assess and record each student's conduct.
CBSE has decided parameters on which the students" behaviour will be scaled. They include students' relation with their friends, how they interact with their teachers, their performance in class. behavioural problems and Others, Teachers will assess them on these grounds, they would analyse it. tally it and then give marks. This process will surely help in imbibing self control, self assessment, self imposed restriction and other good conduct among the students, says one academician of Maharashtra. 

Most of the schools have implemented the CBSE directives many are in the process of including them. Some of the teachers are not happy with this new venture of CBSE. They feel that it is an addition to their present workload. Secondly this work needs thorough involvement of teachers. Now they have to keep an eye on student activities and record it on the sheets. Based on this record, the treatment to be meted out is decided. The students would either be appreciated or counselled to improve their behaviour.
A Principal of city school feels that it would make students assess meir own behaviour and improve it. The hoard has announced this step to improve students' behaviour and is a welcomed one.

THE Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has consistently been striving to establish new benchmarks in secondary education through its policies and programmes. In one of its moves, to strengthen the implementation of CCE scheme of evaluation in all of its affiliated schools and bring about other reforms in the education system of the country. CBSE lias a separate training division that would take care of ail training and development needs of teachers and school leaders. In an endeavor to make this initiative a success, CBSE is planning to initiate training workshops for teachers and school leaders focusing on new initiatives and implementation of various innovative practices in all aspects of school education including the use of ICT. Assessment and Evaluation. In this regard. CBSE would like to collaborate with Independent Private Schools including Sahodaya School complexes which have an auditorium with a capacity to accommodate approximately 80-100 participants. CBSE would like to use this facility to conduct/organize trainings and workshops on various new initiatives. The effort is to involve as many institutes as possible in every Region of the Board. The auditorium may be used for two consecutive days for which the expenditure of providing lunch, refreshments, and stationery 10 the participants shall be borne by CBSE. CBSE has appealed that the interested schools, Sahodaya School complexes may fill in the requisition form attached.

ENDING speculation that CBSE Class X and XII examinations will be advanced in view of the Lok Sabha elections early next year, the Board said the exams will be held on schedule.
In a statement, the Central Board of Secondary Education said the examinations will begin on March 1.2014. as is usually done every year. Last year too. the exam had begun on March 1 and continued for almost a month.
According to CBSE in 2014 board exam registration, a balance has been observed in ihe number of students taking the external and school-based exams as 55% students have opied for the school-based exam. In year 2014, students from 14.7(H) schools will sit for the board exam, which will be 800 more than March 2013. Due to new schools adding and affiliated to CBSE. a gradual increase in the number of candidates has been noted.

NLFT Financial Literacy Test Jan 2014 Details - WITH a view to make students aware about finance scenario. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has planned to hold the first ever National Financial Literacy Test (NLFT) across the country.
The lest will be for students from Class VIII to X. the National Financial Literacy Test (NFSE) is India's first national-level test to measure the level of Financial literacy and basic knowledge on economics among school students. CBSE is collaborating with die National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) Mumbai. to hole the examination.
The main motto of CBSE to conduct this test is to encourage students lo obtain basic financial skills and give them a measure of financial literacy. It is part of a larger plan of the Board to train students in different skills such as communication, leadership and management, among others. 

In education curriculum, two things students miss mostly, one is communication and oilier is financial aspects. Fiscal knowledge plays an important role that would help resolving crucial problems. This test would help children study in this direction and understand economics better, said a CBSF teacher.
The test is scheduled on January 12, 2014. and is a bilingual (Hindi and English) test, comprising of 75 questions analyzing the basic concept of finance and business.
NISM is the nodal agency for implementation of the National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE) in association with the CBSE. NCFE is a joint initiative of India's financial services regulators. Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA). Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) and Forward Markets Commission (FMC).

Tech.) of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs. 
The States of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Nagaland and Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system. The JEE (Main)-2014 will be conducted by the JEE Apex Board for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, participating State Government Institutions etc.
The admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at Nil"s, IIITs, other centrally funded Technical Institutions, Institutions under several participating State Governments, and several other Institutions shall include the performance in the JEE (Main).
For admission to NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) like IIITs etc. and other participating Institutions, the merit/rank list shall be prepared based on 40% weightage to school Boards marks in class 12 or equivalent examination and 60% weightage to JEE(Main). The weightage to school Board/Equivalent examination marks shall be considered only after normalization.
The States of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State Level Examination, are also advised to fill in the JEE (Main) -2014 application form online.
The JEE (Main) will also be the eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to lake if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs/ ISM Dhanbad.
The detailed information bulletin containing details of examination, syllabus, eligibility criteria to appear, examination fees, cities of examination, state code of eligibility, age relaxation, process of normalization of marks, eligibility for admission, reservation policies and important dates will be available on JEE(Main)-2014 website www.jeemain.nic.in by the second week of November 2013. The aspiring candidates are requested to download the information bulletin from above mentioned website only and read the same carefully before applying.

II.   APPLICATION FORM -
The aspiring candidates have to apply online only through JEE  (Main)-2014 website
www.jeemain.nic.in. The online application process will start from 15th November 2013 onwards. The last date for application is 26th December 2013. The eligibility criteria for JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) are different. The candidates are requested to read the information bulletin carefully and themselves ensure their eligibility as per the criteria laid down for JEE (Main) as well as JEE (Advanced). In order to facilitate the aspiring candidates, the JEE (Main) secretariat has designated Facilitation Centres across the country who will help the candidates in filling online application without any charge. The list of such institutes is available on the JEE (Main) website and in JEE (Main)-2014 information bulletin.

III. DETAILS OF EXAMINATION -
JEE (Main) - 2014 shall have two papers, Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.) and Paper-2 (B. Arch./B.
Planning.). Depending upon the course(s) candidates are seeking admission, they may take Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.), or Paper-2 (B. Arch./B. Planning), or both.
